RudderStack is hosting its first ever community challenge for Transformations month!
Transformations is the most flexible and loved feature in the RudderStack community, and we have exciting new functionality for you to experience. This is a great opportunity to contribute to our new Community Open Source Transformation Library, and show off your skills.
And of course, you could win the $1,000 cash grand prize 💰💸
🙌 Why Join?
As a contributor, you'll help grow the community with new ways to solve challenges with Transformations. We hope this challenge brings together different experiences and backgrounds to create a powerful technical resource for you and your peers.
If any of your Transformations entries are accepted, your work will be recognized in our open-source library. If you place 2nd-4th, you'll also win some cash and swag.
For the grand prize winner, you also have the option to be:
- Featured in our blog at the end of this month
- A guest star on our Data Stack Show Podcast
🚀 Getting Started
Here are the steps to getting started with your entry to this challenge:
- Sign up
If you haven’t already, make sure to sign up to RudderStack for free here. - Join our slack community
We will post supporting material including demos and office hours in our RudderStack Slack community so make sure to sign up and join the #transformations-challenge channel. - Learn about Transformations, and explore existing use cases in the Sample Transformation Library.
✍️ Make a submission!
- To enter, write a Transformation that fits within one of these categories:
- Security and Data Governance
- Data processing and Enrichment
- Custom integrations and others
After writing and testing your Transformation in RudderStack, fill out this GitHub entry form with details about your use case, the code block and an example to test.
Each Transformation that’s accepted is another chance to win (capped at 5)
✅ Eligibility to win
Once all Transformations are submitted (deadline April 7, 2023) a judging panel will go through the submissions and determine the winning entries.
Winning Transformations will be chosen based on:
- Code reusability
- Innovation (doesn't currently exist in Transformation library)
- Document Description quality and Clarity
